Job Description:

If you like to get your hands dirty and problem solve mechanical problems, this job is for you. The Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to fill its Auto Worker position.

Principle Duties
The Auto Worker will need to know how to operate a variety of tools ranging from pneumatic to power and hand tools. You will perform all journey-level mechanic duties including:

  • Diagnosing, adjusting and repairing UDC equipment.
  • Inspecting parts for wear, breaks and defects.
  • Using diagnostic testing and calibrating equipment.
  • Completing paperwork to account for parts and labor.
  • Completing other duties as assigned.

Th Ideal Candidate
The best qualified individual for this position is someone who:

  • Is ASE Certified.
  • Has at least 2 years of directly related professional experience.
  • Is very detail oriented and willing to learn and adapt to new ways.
  • Takes charge and has a high standard of workmanship.
