This position is located in Cottonwood, Arizona.


Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in monitoring probationer compliance with conditions of probation as stipulated by the Court.

Document and maintain verifiable case records in electronic and/or paper medium.   (30%)

Monitor probationer behavior and compliance with conditions of probation by conducting mandatory visual and telephonic contact with probationers, employers and other collateral
individuals scheduled/unscheduled to include days, nights, weekends and holidays.  (20%)

Monitor probationers compliance with approved schedules, community restitution requirements, employment and job search activities, education/counseling/treatment requirements and paycheck collection.   (20%)

Provide counseling to probationers; utilize motivational interviewing techniques; participate in conferences to evaluate probationer's progress.   (10%)

Administer drug and alcohol tests.   (5%)

Assist probation officer with assessments, case plans and reports.   (5%)

Attempt to locate probation absconders; conduct searches; may be required to make probation arrests.   (5%)

Performs other job related functions or duties as assigned.   (5%)

Other Qualifications:

One year of similar or related job specific experience and/or skills acquired through previous employment/volunteer work/internship or training/apprenticeship program.

Equivalent to a high school education.

Interpersonal Skills:
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the county for the purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, making reports, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills:
Minimum 21 years of age; U.S. citizen or have legal resident status; maintain a valid Arizona driver's license, must successfully pass a pre-employment character and fitness background investigation, including but not limited to: fingerprinting and criminal history records check, (MVD) driving records check, psychological evaluation, submit to and pass an illegal drug use screening, meet and be able to perform the required training and job duties with or without reasonable accommodation; may be required to submit to a polygraph.
