The Department of Corrections is looking for motivated and caring Licensed Practical Nurse's (LPN) to join our team.

It is the purpose of the Department of Corrections Medical team to assist patients to reach their potential with a high value being placed on meeting the needs of each patient in a humanistic, caring and professional manner.  

The Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in this job perform a variety of patient care tasks under direct supervision. We would love to have you come and join us at the Department of Corrections on our medical team in Draper, Utah. 

Duties will include:

  • Good communication skills with patients, and coworkers.
  • Excellent nursing assessment skills.
  • Proficient at taking vital signs and administering medication.
  • Premium charting and documentation skills to help ensure improving the quality of life of our residents.


  •  Current LPN license valid for work in Utah.
  •  Well-developed assessment skills.
  •  Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  •  Able to pass a criminal background check and work in a drug-free environment.
  •  Works under the supervision of Registered Nurses.

 The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping those in need,

  • Able to communicate professionally, and can work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in taking vital signs, nursing assessment, administration of medication, wound care (including dressing/packing changes), diabetic care and Insulin administration, obtaining specimens, measuring intake and output.
  • Assisting with Medical tests and procedure, stocking of medical supplies, Healthcare tasks.
  • Time management, documentation of assessments and nursing care, etc.

  • Registered as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Utah..
  • Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
  • Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
