Job Description:

The Arrowhead Juvenile Center seeks to provide professional and para-professional counseling services for youth, who for the protection of the community or themselves must be temporarily detained. The atmosphere created is one in which dignity, self-worth and responsibility of each individual is maintained or developed. This is accomplished through a varied and active program of education, recreation, one-to-one counseling and interaction. The Arrowhead Juvenile Center is a detention facility, which requires constant supervision and care for the residents needs, both physical, psychological and emotional.

Benefits are prorated for part-time employees and administered in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement or management compensation plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

  • Graduation from a standard high school or its equivalent and two years of experience in direct client service work in a human services field (2080 hours = 1 year). OR, Graduation from a standard high school or its equivalent; one year of experience (2080 = 1 year) in direct client service work in a human services field; and, at least 90 quarter credits, 24 of which must be in psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice, criminology, or corrections.


NOTE: Possession of a BA/BS degree in behavioral sciences from an accredited college or university will be accepted in lieu of work experience.
