Job Description:

The Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) is looking for an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to work at the Utah State Prison in Draper, Utah. 

Principle Duties:
The EMT is the first line responder to emergencies; assess, package, and follow EMS protocols.

  • Will deliver supplies and medications to institutional housing units. 
  • Will perform a variety of treatments including, but not limited to, diabetic care, obtaining vital signs, EKG's, blood draws, wound care, and dressing changes.
  • Performs physical assessments of patients.
  • Prepare and/or process documents; review for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available.
  • Maintains emergency kits; checks for missing and/or outdated supplies and restocks them as necessary.

The Ideal Candidate
The model candidate for this position will possess:

  • an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate in Utah
  • experience in performing medical procedures
  • competency with patient assessment
  • detail oriented

**Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate required.

**This job is NOT public safety certified, and does not require peace officer status or certification.
