The Utah State Courts are seeking an experienced administrator to serve as Trial Court Executive for the 3rd District Juvenile Court with a primary location in Salt Lake City, Utah. The 3rd District encompasses Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele Counties.  Appointed by the State Court Administrator, the position is responsible for the administration of the Juvenile Court which includes providing administrative support to judges, managing support operations including 150+ professional and technical staff, juvenile probation, budget , facilities, and court security; serving as liaison with government agencies, the bar, news media and the community. Knowledge of court procedures, case management, HR management practices, accounting/budgeting procedures, information technology, contract negotiation/administration and legislative processes is necessary. The Trial Court Executive is an identified leader within the organization and must demonstrate open, transparent, and inclusive communication; an ability to build and lead teams; and the progressive management style inherent in an adaptive leader.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and six years of related management experience; or a Graduate degree in Judicial or Public Administration, Law or closely related field with at least four years of management experience. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced degrees and demonstrated pattern of success in a leadership role. Direct experience in juvenile delinquency and/or child welfare issues is preferred. Experience with evidence based practices is highly desirable.  Salary range for the position is $64,500 to $108,600 annually, plus excellent state benefits.
