Assistant Secretary for Community Corrections

The Assistant Secretary of Community Corrections (ASCC) is a highly responsible senior management position directly reporting to the Secretary. This position provides direct oversight of the agency-wide Community Corrections operations, which manages approximately 166,000 offenders. The ASCC has frequent contact with the Florida Governor’s Office of Planning and Budgeting and with Legislative Committees to convey any concerns of the Department. This position provides coordination, direction and oversight for all Community Corrections activities for the Department including the following bureaus: Probation and Parole Field Services and Interstate Compact. Additionally, the ASCC will perform special assignments for the Secretary dealing with sensitive programs and personnel matters.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain Correctional Probation Officer certification in accordance with Florida Statutes 943.13.
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Ten (10) years of related experience with five (5) of the ten years at an executive decision making level.
