Job Description:

THE POSITION

As a Probation/Parole Officer, you will assist in selecting the supervision strategy that emphasizes changing attitudes and behavior of adult clients placed on parole or probation. The Hennepin County Adult Probation Divisions of Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR), provide a wide range of probation and parole services which are guided by evidence-based principles and practices.


Salary:
Probation/Parole Officer: $40,597.54 - $71,503.02
Probation/Parole Officer, Senior: $43,518.38 - $83,956.03

Location and hours:
Location and hours will be determined based on placement.

In this position, you will:
  • Carry an assigned caseload in the investigation and/or supervision of adult clients under the jurisdiction of the Fourth Judicial District Court or the jurisdiction of the Minnesota Department of Corrections for adult offenders on probation or parole supervision.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluate clients to determine initial risk and needs, interpret and assess information to develop treatment or case plans, and make referrals to community/treatment resources when necessary.
  • Conduct court ordered investigations, prepare and write formal court reports, and work with clients to formulate plans for probation; provide the court with sentencing recommendations based on evidence based practices.
  • Collaborate with related providers to assess needs, performance, progress, and behavior; communicate with other community justice partners regarding clients, including providing information to law enforcement recommending arrest or detention.
  • Conduct field or community visits at residences or community providers.
