Most people enter the field of corrections because they want to make a positive difference in the lives of others. They are filled with hope. Hope is the most vital tool and contribution you can bring to the job daily. Hope is the life-blood of a successful career in corrections and the driving force behind any efforts to help bring about positive behavior change or the healing of the wounds suffered through the commission of crime. If you don’t recognize and accept the utility in being hopeful in this line of work, you should seek a different career.
